So!! where I am sitting it is….9.04PM here on the West Coast of America…
It’s New Years eve, the fire works are going off outside as they do every year.
Normally……and my girlfriend pointed out an important fact that I’ll get to….
Normally I get invites to parties, or hear about the parties everyone will be going to…
This year I’ve heard nothing…..everyone I know is staying at home, chilling out with the kids or the better half.
My girlfriend did point out I am getting older, and maybe that’s why I’m not hearing about parties, and drunken feats that defy gravity…until you hit the ground…
Still….I’ve noticed this over the last few years, people care less and less about New Years, unlike we did years ago (Not that many years….I’m not that old)
Back in the 90’s while in my 20’s it was an event….now it’s just an acknowledgment at best…..maybe I don’t get out enough…or work with really dull people…
Still the whole New Year ring in, always brings fourth the whole Resolution bullshit….never was a fan personally…it’s pointless in my honest opinion.
We sit on our arses all year waiting to cheer and sing Old Lang Syne while seeing triple and make goals most of us will never commit to….it’s a defeatist mind fuck….again just my opinion.
(I have been drinking just so you know 😉 so my opinion might be a little off lol
still doesn’t change the fact.
We all do it….shit I even have done it this week!! get healthy, smoke less, drink less blah blah blah they aren’t resolutions just goals……same diff really lol
We are creatures of habit, it’s in our nature to rinse and repeat.
Still doesn’t stop us from celebrating in our own ways each and every year…
I like to think that with less parties, it’s becoming a more local social event, I know we still have the ball drop, and thousands of people in time Square, but still…
I think people in general are starting to break away fro the norm….well….I hope…
I have little hope for humanity every time I watch the news (Hence I hardly watch it anymore)
God I think I’m babbling now lol
I haven’t had too much to drink but my mind does bloody wonder sometimes…
So!! New Years….. shit be Jesus it’s already 2014…..
I honestly didn’t think I’d be here, in my 20’s never thought I would live to see this year…there was a group of us, and we partied, drank more than we should and smoked pot till we passed out (I did inhale just so you know) we had this retarded view that life was for living till the end…..no matter how soon that end was to be…
…….and we are all still here….with kids lol
Go figure….
Guess it shows that now and then…
youth is wasted on the young…could explain why the old get so bitter lol
